Question asked to participating companies:
Given the issues with our current economy, what characteristic (combining personal as well as professional) do you consider most important in a CEO?
(Companies were asked to share their thoughts by taking our quick poll and ranking the traits below).

Participants:
• 521 respondents in 15 different countries, plus responses from InterSearch Website
• 4% of all respondents accessed the survey via InterSearch.com
Countries Surveyed included:
Russia, Malaysia, India, Ireland, Greece, Italy, Belgium, Norway, Czech Republic, Hungary, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, Australia, USA
Summary of Survey Findings:
• Overall, Strategic Thinker was the top rated skill – it was selected by 11 of the 16 participants as their number 1 criteria. It ranked number 2 with the 5 that did not choose it as number 1.
• Overall, Team Builder and Results Oriented were the second most popular selections. Authenticity, Analytical and Tolerance for Risk were selected least often.
• There is no clear cut “winner” among the criteria – the data indicates all of the criteria are necessary when qualifying effective CEOs (i.e., not one characteristic accounted for more than 15% of all responses).
Ireland Response:
• 24 respondents, 106 total responses
• Strategic Thinker ranked highest, followed by Team Builder, Change Agent and Communication Skills,
